Frequently Asked Questions
Where does Story Students take place?
Our 5th and 6th graders have their own environment during our 10:30 AM service. As you come into our building on Sunday morning our friendly volunteers will be happy to help your student(s) find their room.
Story Students takes place on Sunday nights from 6:30- 8 PM. We meet in the homes of some of our volunteers. The schedule for where we will meet each week is established in advance and is available for parents and students at the green Guest Services tent each Sunday Morning.
Who is teaching my student?
All of our Story Student environments use teaching based on XP3 by Orange curriculum. Orange curriculum believes that the two influences in the life of a student, the light of the church (yellow) and the warmth of the home (red), work best when they are aligned (creating orange). To help do so, we use a mix of video and live teaching to teach messages that are relevant to the needs of our students. Live teaching is given by our Student’s teaching team under the direction of our lead pastor.
What does a typical Sunday environment look like?
Our 5th and 6th-grade students all gather in their environment before our 10:30 AM service. Once the main service has started they join the adults to participate in worship. After the worship set, students return to their environment where they will have breakfast, participate in fun activities, learn from engaging videos, and spend time discussing how they can apply what they have learned to their lives with their small group.
A Sunday night gathering for Story Students begins with free time for our students to hang out and engage with one another. The large group program kicks off then with crazy games, funny videos, and teaching that’s all about Jesus. After the program, students gather in smaller groups with other students to talk about anything and everything including how they can continue to grow in their faith.
How are you keeping our students safe?
While your students are in our care they are never out of sight of a volunteer. All of our volunteers must complete a volunteer application and pass a background check before serving. For your student’s safety, our volunteers never serve alone.
